With 12 volumes (and counting) released in whimsical,
non-alphabetical order, there's lots to discover in this series.

Let's reprint the the very first volume in the UPPERCASE Encyclopedia of Inspiration, Volume F: Feed Sacks.

Feed Sacks: The Colourful History of a Frugal Fabric

A perfect example of a utilitarian product turned into something beautiful, author Linzee Kull McCray explores the history of the humble feed sack, from a plain burlap or cotton sack to exuberantly patterned and colourful bags that were repurposed into frocks, aprons and quilts by thrifty housewives in the first half of the 20th century.

Volume G: Glue is next book in the UPPERCASE Encyclopedia of Inspiration

TO BE PUBLISHED IN 2025

Volume G: Glue will feature artists, designers and craftspeople who use collage and assemblage in their work. Beyond traditional collage, we will feature an eclectic variety of interpretations, mediums and methods that artists use to hold it all together.

The 12th volume in the UPPERCASE Encyclopedia of Inspiration.

Notions celebrates the remarkable, practical and nostalgic tools and accessories of sewing. With sewing stories and miscellany from textile artists, fabric designers, quilt pattern makers, quilt shop owners, haberdashers, inventors and entrepreneurs, Volume N in the UPPERCASE Encyclopedia of Inspiration is an entertaining and illuminating A to Z of sewing miscellany.

A perennial favourite!

Art and creativity inspired by plants and florals. This lavishly illustrated Volume B in the UPPERCASE Encyclopedia of Inspiration is 448 pages and over 1000 images. Originally published in 2017, the first print run sold out quickly. A reprint in 2020 sold out and we're bringing back this perennial favourite for November 2024.

uppercase sustainability initiatives

We all love print on paper—nothing can compare to the tactile pleasure of reading books and magazines!—but I also understand the environmental impact that producing products and selling items through e-commerce has on the environment. Please read more about our sustainability initiatives and how UPPERCASE is reducing its footprint and trying to make change for the better.
